Cohen Children's Medical Center

Charities 2018

Founded in 1983, the mission of Cohen Children’s Medical Center is to improve the health and well-being of the more than 1.8 million children across the communities it serves throughout the New York metropolitan area and Long Island. The medical center provides world-class, patient-centered care to the entire community, regardless of the ability to pay. In 2015, Cohen Children’s was ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation, for the ninth consecutive year, by U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” survey, and is now listed in nine of ten categories. Cohen Children’s is a member of Northwell Health (formerly the North Shore-LIJ Health System), the largest clinically-integrated healthcare network in New York State.

In addition to providing world-class patient care, Cohen Children’s is committed to keeping children and families in the communities it serves healthy and safe. For the past 16 years, our partnership with Kohl’s Cares has worked to do just that. Each year, the Kohl’s Cares Keeping Kids Healthy Program engages thousands of families in nutrition and physical activity programming that promotes a healthy lifestyle, exercise, and making healthful food choices—all the keys to supporting good health for life.
